The Opening Game Pass Games of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Is Still Fighting.

In numerous discussions, commentators persist in tolling the death bells for the Xbox brand. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a platform few have heard of. Xbox fan sites began covering regarding Sony's platform for the first time. 2025 was complete chaos for the tech giant's gaming arm. But if we're going solely off the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it becomes clear that Microsoft remains determined to draw people in with compelling titles on its flagship service.

The Available Now Titles

The two games you can play right now as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's worth getting excited about.

Significant Forthcoming Releases

On Jan. 13, the platform will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, a sprawling adventure that refreshes typical Ubisoft design with a cosmic robbery tale. Another big get is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, which our 2021 review called "the perfect cocktail of terror and combat."

Noteworthy Smaller Games

But even the smaller games arriving shortly on the service are noteworthy here. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, an unjustly ignored roguelite that's a blast to play, arrives January 7th — and it merits a playthrough whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.

The game set in a ruined Britain from last year might get its hooks in you within just a quarter of an hour.

Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by the developers behind Sniper Elite, is another one to watch. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to anticipate.

A Well-Rounded Collection

All in all, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, nor are they first-party juggernauts that justify the service by themselves. Yet, this selection are very dependable. The lineup provides a solid mix of older titles you may have skipped and relatively recent releases that didn't get the attention they were due initially — rendering them excellent choices to experience a revival on Game Pass.

Hope you're ready to part ways with The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
