Real-time updates available on radio channels and mobile app.

FP1 Results Summary

Aston Martin's two-time champion topped the times beating Monegasque driver and Red Bull's Max Verstappen in FP1 for the Marina Bay race.

The British team's championship contenders Australian rookie and British talent wrapped up the practice in fifth and sixth.

Piastri was over two tenths quicker than his teammate.

Alonso was 0.150secs ahead of Leclerc and a clear gap clear than Verstappen.

Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton was just outside the top three.

Weekend Outlook

It is not expected that Aston Martin will be front-runners for pole position.

Nonetheless, the squad are confident of a improved performance on a low-speed track that is ideally suited to their chassis, which excels when plenty of downforce are called for.

Veteran racer Fernando is also famous as a Singapore specialist, and typically performs well on the Singapore circuit.

However he was probably running less fuel or a more aggressive setting than his rivals, or a combination, to achieve that pace.

Practice Conditions

Partner Canadian racer was a significant margin off the pace in the lower order.

The Canadian had difficulties with his cockpit early in the session and was also testing new components.

FP1 in Singapore is not indicative of conditions later in the weekend as it is conducted in daylight in early evening, while the shootout and the grand prix are staged after dark.

Points Situation

The McLaren driver has an advantage over his teammate by a solid margin with remaining rounds to go as they approach the weekend in the Lion City.

McLaren are set to secure the constructors' championship on the weekend.

The only way they can miss out in Singapore is if the Silver Arrows surpass them by over thirty or the Scuderia achieve that by 35.

Red Bull Update

Red Bull are positive of a positive weekend after Max's wins in Italy and Azerbaijan leading into this weekend.

They were relieved when precipitation occurring before the session abated by the time the cars took to the track on a track that had remained dry.

Senior figure the Austrian said ahead of practice that they required a uninterrupted running to make a comprehensive start on optimizing their car configuration for the weekend.
